Oh I love the signs of hope

You wouldn't think so if you had looked out of my window here for most of the past week (it's been raining cats and dogs) but I do feel and see signs of spring. Which is weird. Because it's only January and we are heading for at least two more months of winter.

I don't mind winter too much. I don't like the cold rain like we have now. I do like cold and snowy weather. Snow has some kind of magic to me (that's why I like to ski), despite the practical problems it can cause. I don't like the darkness in winter though. The pitch darkness when waking up makes me want to turn around and snuggle up in bed for a bit longer. It's something I had to get used to again. In Shanghai summer or winter, the sun rises long time before I do. Here in the Netherlands in winter it's dark and depressing, it makes me feel like the world has to wake up again!

But I wanted to share these little signs that always give me hope :)

And for the rest I'm just trying to keep that positivity alive and taking in lots of vitamins, doing exercises and taking it easy from time to time.

So for Six Word Saturday I was playing with words on this topic and ended up with:

Spring tickles winter by tiny nudges

  1. I like your six words - very poetic and fitting.
I'm not a winter person, I'm definitely a summer girl, but that may be because we don't get snow in my part of the world

  2. We're in deep winter here. The only thing green is my parka.

  3. We finally got some snow this morning. I had almost forgotten what it was like. Still, I can't wait for warmer weather and love you six words about sping/winter.

  4. Cessie, I like your signs of Spring. Later in Spring we are planning to visit our daughter and family now living in London.

While there Mrs. Jim and daughter plan to visit Holland to see the tulips. I probably will stay in London so that they can enjoy a girl thing. I have seen them there quite a few years back.

  7. Our winter has been weak, as is often the case in my undisclosed location. Still, the trees are bare and the world is fairly devoid of color. I'm ready for Spring too!

    Thanks for playing 6WS!
