I am feeling reenergized from this last week of the year. It was a very active week with going to gym, skiing and swimming (about five hours of sports a day ;) and I'm feeling totally relaxed because of it.
And full of plans of what I am going to do. I don't do resolutions because I don't believe in those but it's good to think about what you'd like to achieve on the longer term. To me our China adventure felt like a breaking point in my life, I have changed, things have changed and now that I'm back for a while I'm going to try and bring in the lessons I learned into daily life in the here and now. Not always easy but I love where it brought me so far and don't want to loose it now that I am back.
I learned:
- to let go more and more (living on long distance kind of forced me to do that)
- not to worry too much
- to give people some slack (a good lesson when living in a foreign culture)
- but most of all I learned to follow my own path and not whatever path others follow or expect from me. In China I learned more than ever that it's up to me to make the choices and to find out what I am comfortable with. Be me.
The China adventure felt like some kind of closure of a lot of struggling in the years before it and so I am very grateful I had the time and opportunity to get into these finals and deal with it. I can now say that I am very happy. I did it!!
I don't know where this year will bring me (we never know) but I do know I'm in a far better shape than I was last year at this time. And I am ready. Ready to start my new life! New year, new me.
Happy New Year Cessie!!
