Back to Shanghai

And there I was again! Back in my one of my favorite cities. It really felt a bit like home away from home. It was so good to walk in my old street again and to go to my coffeeman in the morning. To have dinner at my favorite places. But most of all to spend some time with my friends again. It was an awesome week!

I actually did not do anything spectacular. Of course I walked through my favorite part, Old Town. I was in Tai Kang Lu. Had another Chinese lesson with my lovely Chinese teacher but we mostly chatted away ;). Had lunches with friends, dinners with friends. Shopping. The usual. But so good! I loved loved to be back.

Not in the sense that I am longing to live in China again. I am not too sure if I would like to. I am ok with living in my hometown, I am trying to get some sort of a feeling that I belong in the Netherlands again and we will see about the rest later.

Home is where the heart is, I guess it is in different places these days!

  1. I have never lived in Western Canada and don't expect I ever will, but when we drive through the mountains, I feel like I am home. So - I do understand a little of what you are feeling.
